Weekly Business Walks in Dorset at Upton Country Park
A weekly business walk not running for Dorset business owners.
đ What Itâs All About
Most of us live very sedentary lives, constantly engrossed in screens day after day. A global loneliness epidemic is unfolding around us. Although technology connects us more than ever, we are increasingly disconnected - from nature, from others, and perhaps most concerningly, from ourselves.
Running a business is hard. So I made this simple.
Think of the #BMMWalk (Business Minds on the Move Walk) as your starting point towards a healthier lifestyle - both for your body and your mind!
We all know itâs best to walk every day, maybe even with someone by your side. But until then, letâs just begin with your first 10,000 steps. Even if itâs just one day a week!
And in the end, even if it turns out not to be your thing - youâll still go home with 10,000 steps in the bag. đ
So, every Sunday from 9:00 to 10:30 AM, we get together to walk and talk at Upton Country Park, Upton House, Poole - no slides, no suits, no sales pitches. Just fresh air, nature, honest chats, and real connections with other business owners across Dorset.
Whether youâre a freelancer, founder, professional, shop owner, or side-hustler, if you're building something - youâre welcome.

âď¸ What About Weather?

đŹ What Do We Talk About?
Anything and everything. Business wins and worries. New ideas. Big dreams.
Start with simple questions:
âWhat kind of business do you run?â
âWhatâs something thatâs worked well for you lately?â
You donât need to prep or pitch. Just come as you are.
đ The Walkerâs Mantra
I wanted something simple
I wanted to walk, not scroll
I wanted to listen, not pitch or sell
I wanted to connect, not collect or convert
I wanted space to breathe and just be myself
I wanted others to feel that same quiet freedom too
I started walking every Sunday along the Dorset coast
I invited others friends, strangers, fellow wanderers to come along
I asked for no preparation, no pressure, no polished introductions
I watched strangers become familiar faces, week after week
I watched small talk turn into real conversations, deep and surprising
I shared what I could: thoughts, ideas, encouragement, presence
I asked questions that opened doors instead of closing them
I made room for silence, for the sound of footsteps and waves
I noticed ideas spark mid-step, clarity arriving without forcing it
I saw collaborations form without agendas, just trust
I saw people leave lighter, clearer, calmer
I realised this was more than walking
I kept showing up
People kept coming
So we keep going
